I understand that receipt by The Estée Lauder Companies Inc.or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates (collectively, the "Company") or by retailers who operate counters for Company brands(collectively, the “Retailers”) of this employment application does not imply that I will be employed. 

I understand that individuals who work at freestanding Origins, Aveda, Clinique and Estée Lauder retail stores and at certain retailer locations in New York City (Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s 59^thSt, Bergdorf Goodman) are employed by the Company, and the Company therefore makes all hiring decisions regarding these positions and establishes rates of pay, benefits and other conditions of employment.  I also understand that individuals who work at all other Retailer locations are employed by the Retailer, not by the Company, and the Retailers therefore makes all hiring decisions regarding these positions and establish rates of pay, benefits and other conditions of employment.

I understand that any employment with the Company or a Retailer may be terminated with or without cause and with or without notice, at any time, by either myself or the Company or Retailer as applicable.  I further understand that only specific authorized representatives of the Company or the Retailer have any authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specified period of time, or to make any agreement contrary to the foregoing.

I hereby authorize all persons and entities deemed necessary by the Company, including employers, educational institutions and credit bureaus, to supply information concerning my background and release them from any liability and responsibility arisen from their doing so. 

I agree that I am not a party to any agreement or obligation(except as disclosed previously in this application), including but not limited to those relating to confidential business information, trade secrets, and/or noncompetition, which would interfere with or restrict my ability to perform any and all duties and obligations should I be employed by the Company or a Retailer. 

I understand that my employment with the Company or a Retailer may be contingent upon my taking and passing a physician examination administered by a physician of the Company's or Retailer’s choosing, passing a criminal or credit background check, and/or passing a drug and alcohol screen.  I authorize the Company and the Retailer to obtain a consumer report regarding me for employment purposes as part of the pre-employment background investigation and at any time during my employment, as permitted by applicable law. 

I agree that if I am offered and accept employment with the Company or a Retailer, I will produce documents establishing my identity and work authorization as a condition of employment. 

I certify that all statements made by me on this application are true and complete to the best of my knowledge.  I have withheld nothing that would, if disclosed, affect this application unfavorably.  I understand that misrepresentation in any part of the application process may render me ineligible for employment consideration, result in the revocation of an employment offer or, if I am already employed, result in the termination of my employment.
