3 Steps To

Major Lashes

Lashes, lashes, lashes. Come hither, major lashes. And when we say “major,” we mean the kind of eyelashes that make you feel extra-confident, the ones that play a central role in the most polished and alluring version of yourself. Here are three steps to take your lashes to the next level—no extensions or falsies required. Big night out? Pretty easy.

Step One: Enhance what you've got.

Just like body shaping lingerie, a lash primer helps make the most of your natural assets. Apply one coat of mascara primer like Lash Building Primer, and let it dry before swiping on mascara. Not only will it fatten up your lashes, but it also amps up the results of your mascara: curling mascara will curl more, lengthening mascara will lengthen further, and so forth.

Step Two: Tackle the top lashes.

Wiggle your mascara wand into the base of your lashes, and then wiggle it up and out. Giving the base of your lashes a good coating of mascara makes them look lush and defines your eyes. Next, apply a second coat, concentrating on your outer lashes—they make everything more fluttery and flattering. Not sure which mascara formula you should use? Complete this sentence: I wish my lashes were more _____.  Then choose your mascara accordingly. A go-to, does-it-all formula in a beautifully inky black shade is Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in Jumbo Jet.

Step Three: Detail your bottom (lashes).

Frame your eyes all the way around for a naturally pretty wow-factor. We’re obsessed with Bottom Lash Mascara…gotta love a mascara designed specifically with a tiny brush head to get all of your delicate lower lashes and a transfer-proof formula to avoid undereye smudges. Hold the wand vertically under your eye, and move the brush head like a windshield wiper for perfect coverage.
